It is a privilege of families to enable access of children to the information that will influence their development positively. On the other hand, it is a joint responsibility of parents and society to limit and reduce negative effects that the same media sources have on the young and developing minds of the school-aged children. Lack of personal experience and knowledge make children absorb and generalize information they receive from their closest relatives and social environment, and in case they do not have examples for particular behavior patterns around them, they will start searching for them in other sources, such as media. If cruelty and violence are exposed through media channels, it can obviously create very negative effect on children. It is extremely difficult to agree on the level and degree to which media is solely responsible for these consequences.
